Contextual Discount Program
Breaking Barriers, Unlocking Opportunities
Higher education should be for everyone, no matter your background.
That’s why our biggest value is to support students from underrepresented communities with exclusive contextual discount codes — helping to level the playing field and make success more accessible.
Who is a contextual student?
Some students face extra challenges:
whether financial struggles
personal circumstances
or other barriers
That makes education harder to access.
Universities, employers, and educational services (including us!) recognise this and offer tailored support to those who qualify.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for a contextual discount, you must meet at least two of the following criteria and provide evidence for one of the two selected.
These criteria have been used nationally across the UK to identify students who may benefit from additional support:
Residence in an area with low progression to university: Based on the POLAR4 scale (quintiles 1 & 2), IMD scale (quintiles 1 & 2), or ACORN scale.
Attendance at a school with low progression to higher education: Defined by the Attain 8 scale.
Receipt of means-tested benefits within the past 5 years.
Permanent disability.
Refugee or asylum seeker status.
Eligibility for entrance exam bursaries: For exams such as UCAT, LNAT, other recognised admissions tests.
In receipt of free school meals (FSM).
Young carer: Providing unpaid care for a family member or loved one due to illness, disability, or other factors.
